Program Buyer
Troy, Michigan
As Program Buyer, you will call upon your highly developed skills
in managing the functions of the supply base through a total
supply-chain view. Responsibilities include the development and
implementation of a program strategy, sourcing of new components,
driving cost reductions, supplier management through timing and
delivery, and the enhancement of quality performance and support
programs throughout their entire life cycles. Importantly, you will
manage the suppliers within an Extended Enterprise framework in
support of the team, and in accordance with the Purchasing
Responsibility matrix. Some domestic and international travel is
required.
To qualify, you should hold a Bachelor?s degree in Supply Chain
Management and possess 3 to 5 years of program buyer experience,
i.e., direct spend/direct purchasing—not MRO. Automotive industry
background is preferred, but not necessary. You must have a strong
understanding of cost and purchasing fundamentals as they relate to
a supply chain. Outstanding communications skills, along with a
high-energy, positive personality that shows initiative, plus an
ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a large work
load and multiple timelines will assure success in this role.
